Granular urea

CO(NH₂)₂

Urea is the most widely used solid nitrogen fertilizer. In granular form the particles are larger and harder, so they break down less in transport, storage and mechanical spreading.

Also known as: Urea granules

What to check before buying

  • Total nitrogen
  • Biuret
  • Moisture
  • Size distribution
  • Granule strength
  • Anti-caking treatment

These figures depend on grade, producer and lot. They are read from the certificate of analysis of the lot offered, not from this page.

Uses

  • Direct application in agriculture
  • Bulk blending with other fertilizers, which needs matched particle sizes
  • Industrial uses, in grades specified separately from agricultural urea

Specifications and delivery

Grade, packaging, quantity and delivery terms are confirmed against the producer’s analysis and your enquiry.

Questions buyers ask

Is granular urea a different chemical from other solid urea?

No. Solid urea forms are the same compound and differ mainly in particle size and hardness. Nitrogen and biuret content are shown by the certificate of analysis of the lot, not by the shape of the particle.

Can I ask for urea from one specific plant?

You can state it in the enquiry. Whether that plant’s product is available, and in which form, depends on timing and is confirmed in our reply.
